Course Description:
This course provides a practical look at how public health dentistry and mobile dental programs expand access to care for underserved and uninsured populations. Participants will explore oral health disparities, real-world barriers to care, and the unique challenges of delivering services in mobile and portable settings. The course also offers hands-on insight into providing preventative care beyond the traditional dental office, building community partnerships, and navigating the steps to obtain a Public Health Authorization Permit and establish an LLC to deliver and receive reimbursement for public health dental hygiene services.

Speaker Bio:
Marjean Stamm, RDH, BS, PHRDH, FADHA, is from Omaha, Nebraska, with nearly 29 years of experience as a dental hygienist. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry and has dedicated her career to advancing public health and improving access to oral healthcare.
As a Public Health Dental Hygienist, Marjean is deeply passionate about serving underserved populations and making a meaningful impact in her community. In 2022, she founded Trusted Tooth Fairy, LLC, an innovative public health initiative that partners with Head Start programs and other underserved organizations. Marjean served as an oral health coordinator for the Southeast District Health Department in Auburn, Nebraska, and was involved in the Nebraska Teeth Forever grant-funded program.
Marjean served as the President of the Nebraska Dental Hygienists’ Association (NDHA) for 2024–2025 and is the current Immediate Past President. She is a Board member of NDHI- Nebraska Dental Hygiene Initiative, and was a member of the NDHA House of Delegates. She co-founded the annual Fun Run for Oral Cancer, launched in 2023. Trusted Tooth Fairy received the Mars Wrigley Foundation Healthier Smiles Grant for 2024–2025 and 2025–2026. She also received the Crest Oral-B awards: “Together We Can Conquer Cavities Campaign” in 2022 and “Closing America's Smile Gap” in 2023. She serves as a committee member on the Health Advisory Board for Sarpy County.
In recognition of her service, Marjean received the NDHA Community Service for Dental Hygienists Award in 2014. She is also a strong advocate for mentorship and has been actively involved in supporting dental hygiene students through the Career Catalyst mentoring program.
Over the past 25 years, Marjean has held numerous leadership roles within her profession and community. She continues to practice part-time at Homan Family Dentistry. She enjoys building relationships with the patients, all while remaining committed to public health advocacy, leadership, and service.
